I like the form and feeling behind this text.
It gives a real feeling of being on the precipice of something,
And following through with it.
Truly living the words...

Did we meet?

2014-09-05
So many meanings...
I like the introspective element
for both the reader and the poet

Waking Up

2014-09-05
A perfect expression of the natural music in the world around us. All we have to do is stop and listen as you did. Good write!

Conference Room, Five O'clock

2014-09-05
I like the abrupt style. It really conveys the sense of curt tension of conference rooms. It feels much like my Music History classroom actually. haha. Good sense of feeling and good imagery. :-)

A Silly Villanelle

2011-10-31
This makes me chuckle. I like that you made something fun. So often our work can be bogged down in the drudgery of sad emotions, but this was bouncy and enjoyable. It reminds me of the frist villanelle I published on poetbay... entitled: A Villanelle... teehee. Just in the sense that it is about writing and it is in villanelle form. Write more dear Baskenmütze.

In Love with a Jenny

2011-06-26
It has been so very long since I have seen this movie, but this poem just makes me chuckle. I really like the satire here. And I really like your title. I think that most people forget just how important a title is and just slap something up there, but I think yours fits perfectly. Hope you can get a support group one day!
:-p -Nick

Time Does Not Wait

2011-06-26
So well said. This is an excellent write miss J Carbone!
I really like the repeated line "but time must go on"
It is so true--even when we don't want it to be
Keep publishing!

(also, did you mean fate* where you put fait*--or am I just flaunting my small vocabulary?)

You're Long Gone

2011-03-31
This is a sweet lament for the loss of a Loved one
You convey the deep sadness that loneliness and loss brings,
the deep hole that continues to affect us long after someone is "long gone"

this is a great write
keep on writing!
Good work.
-Nick

Transtormation

2011-02-11
This was an excellent read. (I just noticed the little question above this box that says, "How was the read?"--I don't think I have ever noticed it before)

Either way--there is a lot of passion in this poem and I like how you take all of these short simple ideas and weave an evokative poem. You can really feel the

Lost Memories

2011-01-08
This is tragically beautiful and so moving.
It really takes you there. So evokative. A really great write.
[I like your pen name too :) ]

Poetry
Resonates
Emotionally and
Touches the soul.
This poem says
You clearly understand
. this and can emote beautifully.

Nice Write!

Fountainship

2010-12-15
This reminds me a tiny bit of Ayn Rand. It makes me think of "the fountainhead and has a similar style of referring to people.
I really like it though.
You always have such a unique perspective on how life happens. I am really jealous because it makes your writing very deep and interesting to read because you can take everything so many ways.

Also,
I checked to see if there was an acrostic here 'cause I got paranoid and here is what I came up with. HIFA HIWF HEDI HTSS HCIM HWBI HEDI... which is nothing unless it is in some satanic chanting language that I don't know about.

Good write

Sincerely, Me

2010-12-05
Dear you,

I totally get where this is coming from
This is the feeling I have almost every day of my life
yet some how it never seems to pan out
except for the random day when an actual thought comes to my mind...
Overall this was a nice write that explained some very common emotions. It may not have been what you had in mind, but I like it. Good work!

Sincerely, Nick

Harsh Reality

2010-11-22
I never knew you had felt this way about it
I knew you didn't like it
but I didn't know how much

things will be:

Overwhelming for a time, but
Knowing life,
All will be well for
You never know what the future holds

Poigniant--very emotional. thank you for sharing

Waiting for Acceptance

2010-11-22
this is my favorite of these
I really like the refrain
It is exactly like Aurora said
--I said this to myself so many times in the first few weeks of school

this is really beautiful

Falling Hard

2010-11-22
this is so sweet and beautiful
you really need to recognize the beauty and awesomeness within yourself.
You do deserve him or whoever you want
You are: (Acrostic Time!)

Altogether one of my
My best
Amigos in school.
Zipping around
In constant hurry,
Never knowing how
Great you really are

Very full of emotion. I like this one.

Far Away

2010-11-22
this is very thought-provoking
so short and so

Strangely familiar
With an air of never
Ending joy and
Ever present dreams
That keep us calm and safe in our own heads

I really like this one

Happiness

2010-11-02
I am in Love with this poem Morgan.
(PS you need to explain to me how to do all this formatting nonsense some day)

I really like the way it focuses down
It gets mor poignant with every decrease in word count

It has this amazingly powerful message
I feel so much for where this is coming from
If it means to you what it means to me then I can honestly say that things change often and the holes close up and then bullets stop--maybe I am off base, but your poem is

Beyond amazing and
Even calls for
A round of
Unending applause
To thank you for
Intentionally exposing your
Feelings and
Understanding that
Los amigos siempre esta`n aqui para ti`

I ended up in spanish somehow... not sure how that happened... I really like this

now that i have you

2010-09-27
I am so happy for you!
This was intense! I really liked it.
It seems like

More
Amazing than the
Greater portion of everything...
In fact, it seems
Close to perfect.

WRITE MORE!

Sunwarmth

This is intensely beautiful.
I really like the emotions you poured into this poem.
Glad to know you were feeling so free at this moment.

Words

2010-09-08
This is really sad, but somehow entirely beautiful. You paint a really vivid picture here and I really like how you are conveying your feelings. Don't lose touch with me. E-mail me some time, or text, or call. I hear you spent some time with my boyfriend recently. How was that? I do hope that our words will be heart-felt but joyful in the future.

Arpeggiated

2010-09-08
First of all, I LOVE the description box. Also, this poem is so AWESOME. It really gets a point across without coming right out and saying it. It is really sweet and beautiful and sentimental. I really like it. Perhaps I will start writing again... Hope you are enjoying Senior Year. I know you will do well.

A Wall

2010-09-08
Clearly I need to get on poetbay more often because I miss people writing and my two favorite Barksdales getting Editor's Choice Awards. I really like this one. I hope that the wall is not because of the many states between us. We should talk more. I have been really crazy busy but now that I am settling in I hope to have more time. Hope you are enjoying school!

When the Mist Rises

2010-03-12
sorry I haven't been commenting recently, but this is really peaceful and reminds me of spring and that fresh smell of earth

Angry Villanelle

2009-09-18
Who is this about?
I like the way you used the repeating lines
It is better to use vague-er ones like these so the poem as a whole makes more sense
Good write!

I LOVE YOU

2009-08-19
I really like this
it is so sweet and

So
Entirely lovely.
Nothing
Says more than the
Intense words
That you have
Implanted secretively around the
Very
Evokative things you have described here.

sorry I haven't talked to you in a while and that this post sucks so much
Band Camp has consumed my life

A Summer of Flowers

2009-07-19
I LOVE how this sets a scene
It is so vivid and describes everingthing so wonderfully.

Verily this piece
Is so great in
Very descriptive
Imagery that it lifts life up to a
Dramatically more beautiful place.

Great write!

Acrylic Elegy

2009-07-12
this is so beautiful
I never cease to marvel at how you can draw so much out of a simple color.
you have a true talent for imagery and captivating.
I always just have to get to the end so that I can know everything that you need to say.

Really astonishingly vivid and
Everfescent in both imagery and
Definitely in form and flow.

Grrrreeeaatttt read!

***TAG GAME***
Here's how it works. Write a Text. Then whoever the first person to comment on it is, you post this so they have to write a new text. This is just a way to make sure that people keep writing. Also do not tag anyone on the list below. (copy your user name to the top of the list and remove the bottom name so that there are only ever 3 names on the list at a time and we can circle to people you know if neccessary).

To Be An Adolescent,

2009-06-28
I really like this
it epitomizes teenagehood
I like how it seems like a definition or something to that effect
I wish I could comment better but there is a lot of stuff going on around me right now so I can't do a good job but go you!

Sketches of Summer

2009-06-15
This is really

Simply beautiful and
Wonderful. It
Entreats the mind to
Envision a scene and
The situation that are all part of the great message

I really like this. It is very expressive.

I like how your tone really effectively matches the last line.
Uncertainty is a word that is too long to accrosicize but very well describes all of this

YAY POEM! -Nick

This Rain

2009-06-01
So a couple things

1) This is a mandate: You must play me the music that goes with this song.

2) You must make a recording of this song... I will help if you want... It is beautiful

3) I actually thought most of the rhythm was good. there are just some phrases to iron out

4) Ignore 3 because it is annoying... seriously this is awesome

5) Have I ever mentioned that you are amazing? I mean... yeah... you are awesome! Keep writing! (another mandate)

6) I don't know why I went to 6 but you are awesome and this poem is magnificent!
