I wish by Ann Wood

I wish I could hate you,
To remember how I loved you.
But today I have been quiet and empty,
And full of heaven with indifference.
You do not sound in my mind. All in all.
I do not even cry ... Amazingly.
I did not even dream of you last night.
I did not even try to try.
You did, though, make me strong.
Almost insensitive. Almost cynical.
But not in general, but in the past.
Which, when I come back, I love you.

This is very different in tone and voice than your other poems. A different side of your creativity.
