Squire is Squire Squirrel, from our PoetBay book Woodland Scenes :>)
If our FT were able to draw, she would provide a picture of Squire at our window, holding a torch just under his furry face :>)

Sonnet: Return to the woods

Old Winter has arrived in Northern Earth,
   portended by the flocks of migrant geese
seen flying over mountain, hill, and firth,
   and our FT in comfy thermal fleece;
dear Coo is also clad in warming wools
   for draughts seep through the windows, day and night,
the season's fridging friends, his greying ghouls,
   conspirators in lessening the light;
but suddenly, a tap upon a pane,
   a furry face illumined by a torch…
good Squire! he bids us hop upon the train
   of thought that drives directly to his porch;
one nod, and in our flowered gowns and hoods
we trip again, to wander in the woods.

Squire's invitation reminds me of Peter's invite to Wendy and the Boys to join him in Neverland.

I'm thinking that cumulatively your 1000 words have drawn a very pretty picture. Squire & Company are clear in my mind.

Enjoy the thought-train. We will enjoy it as it is revealed.

A pleasant thought.
