The worse possible break-up

The End Of A Long Fight

Without even waking he knew

Their fight the night before had been way to much

Things were said that were never meant

He heard her cry as he drifted off to sleep

No, he did not sleep well

His dreams kept drifting back to her

How he felt when he held her

How the smell of her shampoo drove him through the roof

How normal it felt to say "I love you"

Why did they argue?

Was the problem so bad that they could not just talk

Words were said that neither meant to say

He never wanted to say that he hated her

He never meant to tell her that he never loved her

He knew better.

She should have known better

Seconds passed and millions of ideas ran through his mind

In the other room he heard a door close

He thought he had a chance to say "I'm sorry"

He had the chance to hold her once again

He opened the bedroom door

Looked into her eyes as she stood there

He never said a word

Afraid that the one wrong word would make her leave and never come back

There was a bag in her hand but he did not notice

He ran to her and whispered in her ear.

She smiled at him and said that she loved him too

She kissed him with the loving kiss he thought he had lost

Then she laughed and said that they were out of milk
so she was at the store so they could have breakfast together.

Words can be weapons or they can be a sweet balm! They can kill and they can heal. Words are very powerful. I am so glad this ended sweetly. I know many times in situations like the one you just written so well silence wins and relationships lose. I am
sorry(s) seem to be so hard to say after I hate you(s) spew out so freely. Well done Rob.
