Rusty head

Trapped inside a crimson dew drop
slipping down a spiders silken thread
how life slips away
locked inside this rusty clockwork head.

So to the cliff of hope
i take my rusty legs
mourn the dead of the night away
and simply try to forget.

And as the seagulls call to me
mesmorized by how they fly
i feel the centre of gravity move
and tumble through a jet black eye.

The seagulls are screaming louder now
as their wings beat hard and unfurl
a silent shadow falling
invades their secret world.

With their panicked hearts still beating
they settle towards the ground
the ocean whispers gently
the moment frozen
a silent symphony of sound.

The silken thread has broken
crimson dew drops are no more
just like all the other memories
the past has closed its door.

Ahhh. Simply washed out with the tide. This was just delightful and so very visual. I am partial to the sound and sight of the sea anyway so this stanza really grabbed me:

" And as the seagulls call to me
mesmorized by how they fly
i feel the centre of gravity move
and tumble through a jet black eye."

Just a pleasure to have read this today. Excellent work. ~Pamela

Zoya Zaidi
Silently we tread upon
The muddy road of life,
Queitly and stealthly,
It creeps behind our eyes,
Dewdops freeze,
Tears evaporate,
Senses take a flight,
Gradually, sinisterly,
It slips into the dark night...

What a masterpiece, Kip, another perfect piece, very distubing, very stirring, and sad with a mellow touch of melancholy...

Bravo!

((((hugs))))

Love, Zoya
