We so easily break
others
A kind honesty that turns out to be so violent
shattering hopes and dreams in someone's
eyes

A perfect balance between kind and cold
to keep their hopes at bay
to crush them so they stay
away

We so easily break
shatter

and fall again

for a new pair of violent eyes

There is an Anthony Hecht poem called More light! More light! which mirrors No light, no light. The connections is violence: "We so easily break . . . others."
