Charity work resumes, but all at BirdBrains take a little time for a poem inspired by tanka form and promise to catch up with reading and commenting soon :>)

Daydream Shinhama

pearl grain splash on pool

teal and pintail sail to feast

salt breeze rustles reeds

snowy egret in black pine

espies princes sporting nets

Twonderfulness, Tanka very tmuch.

So nice to see someone who relates to this old verse form, which as you probably know is many centuries older than haiku, dating back 1,300 years. I wonder if 1,000 years from now anyone will still be writing sonnets.

Such a soft style you have chosen for this poem. It's just beautiful!
