Pride

Full of color, zest and vigour
May you live a life, my son
Free from envy spite and prejudice
I know what I see,
in your eyes,
this fear of unknown
Through your touch,
I feel the uncertainity of what lays ahead
and through the same,
I sense your heart beating, thumping
inside little chest of yours,
Its strength, its prowess,
the conviction in your soft grip,
as you hold my hand,
a fight in your spirit,
as you wrestle for the glittery hangings,
I do not doubt at all,
The odds of your success.
however,
to be a better man
Is a quest ,one day for you to fullfill
and make us the old bones
Proud all over again.

Wonderfully written. What more could we hope for. The young are our inspiration for a better tomorrow.

After a long time it is good to read your writing again. You write of the most loved of all persons in your life: Your son.
We can all relate to our desires for their future so full of promise and so full of doubts. So many desires to make sure they succeed in whatever endeavors they face. A huge risk to group in these times and you tackle it with such tenderness and courage. Beautiful! The love comes through.
