Just a Tick

You brushed my elbow today
And my heart leapt

How is it that I
With all these miles on my dials
React with the optimism and excitement of the young ?

Still keeping at bay
The cynicism age promised.

Managing to learn nothing
From mistakes

Knowing in my heart
I would trade a century
For five minutes of pure joy.

Is not a moment , just as significant as a life ?

Blimey

On one today.

Heart leapt and those five minutes of trance are very well narrated and gives the reader a sense of joy and awesomeness. Fantastic work ....

Your reflections on even the small, fleeting experiences of your life are always so thoughtful and elegantly composed. Always a pleasure to read.

I love it! The very idea of guys our age still feeling the Joey of a teasing sensual encounter is wonderful and...factual😜!

All the lines are wonderful.each better than the other. You made me smile at the truth behind this poem, because when it comes to love, each one is brand new. :)
