A musing on Francsis' theology concerning mercy

Mercy

Mercy is the water of love
As rain it quenches the parched
Drought wracked
Souls of the fallen
As a stream it sustains
Those starved for hope
Begging for forgiveness
As dew it soothes the
Stricken harmed by
The lash of bullied taunts
As vapour it rises to
Transport all we love
Heavenward

One of the most beautiful things I have read about Water, which is of course one of the four elements, and The favorite of my own in terms of what is the crucial element to forming life.
The way you wrote this homage is amazingly inspired and profound, and I am a better person for reading and feeling this beautiful ode to water. Gracias.

I don't see how this pertains to any religion at all. It's beautiful and inspiring. I love this sentiment and I love Pope Francis as well. What a perfect analogy with water. I like this very much.

I'm not religious either, I enjoyed your aquatic analogies, they suit me well.

Nicely done, Joe. I'm not religious, not a Christian by any means, but I was reading about Pope Francis this morning. It's pretty clear that the guy understands mercy better than any other recent pope. I like him for that.
