Taking baby steps here too.

Freedom of the Sunrise

In the half-light of the morning

we can breathe

It isn't raining

Let's go to the beach!

Barefoot on warm sand

colorful towel in hand

Tight stomachs and bikinis

they go hand in hand

The mountains of ocean beckon

and it pulls us from the land

into the wet and warm embrace

come my friend, let me hold your hand

To live free with pounding hearts

souls at play

in the turbulent waves

swimming away from land.
Ashe.

This sounds idyllic, the heat, the beach and waves, someone with whom to share them. You're headed out to sea. Where to now?

It sounds wonderful. Away from land and all the worries of a selfish world. To have a larger wonderful world before you and and the happy love of a friend and companion around you. This beautiful piece is probably about memories of youth but it also can be about hope for what is needed.

Beach is happy times for me, I would pine without the sea - I was on the beach today in a little harbour and it was happy happy happy, a little dog was riding helm in his life jacket - Lovely to see you writing again Ashe - don't swim so far away again :-)

how can one go to the beach with a friend, on such a day, and not be happy? impossible! yours is the happiest of poems; yet, there is something more—swimming away from land, leaving something behind.
