A Figure Of Doubt

She couldn't believe that he figured it out
He was the fastest gun that she'd ever met
Shot the feather tip off Mamma's cigarette
She blinked, he winked was there ever any doubt?

She was the brightest star lighting the old saloon
With smiles and laughter, with the beauty of her song
Everyone took her anyway they could long
Into the sunset evening one afternoon

He kissed the promise of a ghost the gown she wore
Shining like the dreaming seas with waves of wonder woven
Through the twining promise of her hair down before
The moment came and went please she says 'think I have chosen'

She winked, he blinked was there ever any doubt?
Shot the feather tip off Mamma's cigarette
She was the brightest sun he'd not forget
He couldn't believe that she figured it out
