JULY THE FIRST 1914 (A REVANT WORDS CORECKTED & ADDED)

July 1914 - summer - hot - the sands* packed
Bottles of ginger beer - jam sandwiches
Paddling in the sea - all the family -even our old mum - enjoying
The sea
Our old dad slumped in a deckchair - hanky over face - snoring as he
Sleeps off the beer from the Queens Head

Clouds - as white like as wool - lazily - floating across the - oh so - so - blue sky
What could possibly spoil - that summer!
I were just sixteen.

*Locals of my age called the beaches The Sands
