this is for all the little letters in the world

in praise of ee cummings

i wanted to get into the movies
but i couldn't afford a ticket

i wanted to be a cricketer
but i couldn't take a wicket

i wanted to be a buddy
but i couldn't spare a dime

i wanted to be poet
but i couldn't make a living

and then i met ee cummings
at a full stop and he told me
to forget trying to be someone else
and be true to the inner id (not idiot)

and he put himself on the dotted line
saying whether it's a you or a me
it's always ourselves we find in the sea

so i packed my lower case
and headed for the coast

ooo ooo ooo finding yourself in the sea...how subtle u b...the genius in found in the wee, wee words (not necessarily in the pea words). however, the communication must be circular.
...does any of this make sense?

in case no on understands it, I find your poetry stim-u-lat-ting!

:p

Nice poem. Loved the sea-image. Besides, I too love reading ee cummings.
