Loose Screws

Robotic limbs pull me into tangled wires

that I wrapped myself in for comfort

Believing that you were capable of love

was my biggest malfunction.

And I wished to a mechanical universe

for some sign of your emotion.

Maybe I am the one

with a few screws loose.

Ashe

i really like this poem, the links between robots, men and love but i don't understand the poem utterly, the mechanical universe and the sign of emotion, i can't figure out the twist in this relation. could you clear my mind?

I like this, Ashe, a lifeless relationship.

Appreciate the honesty with which this poem has been written. I am lost for words but not thoughts. It requires immense courage to see as -it is. We know ourselves And we are so close/ intimate and in touch with ourselves. Loved your poem.

We all have loose screws when it comes to these things. The analogy is a good one. I enjoyed this even though it is sad.

It used to be that when a screw was loose (metaphorical or otherwise), a little tightening with an ordinary screwdriver (metaphorical or otherwise) would fix it.

Now, you've got flat head, phillips head, square head, torx head, allen head, hex head—what's a body to do?

Kidding aside, robotic, unemotional limbs are no joking matter. How ones extricates themselves from such a tangle I don't know.

Wire cutters? Reverse polarity?

Good poem.
