modern jazz quartet

odds against tomorrow

~

someday   maybe   you'll come across

something

i don't know   a photo or letter

something

that reminds you of me   us

i have this music   and forty years from now

i may come across it

long forgotten    and listen   and remember you   us

as we are today   as you are   here   beside me

listening

Yes, music brings things back so well. Also unique smells. I am not a great fan of jazz but I am of Joan Amatrading who uses a lot of jazz chords and changes in her work. This was a nice little jazzy piece.

That's an interesting thought. It's been more like 45 years, and Rod Stewart's Maggie May still reminds me of a woman I loved.

Nothing brings back a memory like music. it is like being there again. I believe it's universal. Love the poem though it's tinged with wistful sadness.+

I like this a lot, I think because that is the essence of memory and feelings, a piece of music, a word or a picture and wham there are you are in the moment again
