A Spring Poem

Iím drawn to the
scarlet poinsettia
& the thousand petalled
heart of the marigold
I lose myself
bit by bit
to their enchanting beauty

a swallow flies back
to her small nest
lustrous outstretched wings
& her sweet voice
Iím drawn to her
like some wicked conjurerís trick

the peepal trees
looming overhead
remaining steadfast as they are
ah! how their leaves shimmer
how their fruits fall onto
the ground
& sparrows enjoy the delicious
ripening fruits

smoke rising upwards
from the thatched huts
it is morning &
time for breakfast
burnt roti left on a griddle
children playing
hopping on one leg game
on the porch

satisfied, I look around
this is just the kind
of sight
I badly needed

I look on and on
for I donít know how long
& go back to writing verse
drawn by the thoughts
of my fledglings

This is truly a happy poem full of the comforts and familiarity of home, or a well visited place. A place of comfort and peace. Your descriptions again are detailed and so expressive. It made me happy to read it and feel the comfort of the place. Just beautiful!

Bibek,, your details are like fine brush strokes on canvas. I am delighted by each word, each phrase, and every design you artfully place in this beauty. How lovely are your thoughts and how wonderful your abilities to describe them with such pure clarity. I am in awe of this.

this is rich with loving images. i get a feeling of going home, that you are somewhere familiar, somewhere that is important to you, and you savoring the precious sights.

you admire what you see, it fills you with someone good, something like peace, then go back, with a sigh perhaps, to your work.

this is pleasing and soft and gentle, and a pleasure to read.

These are such beautiful observations, especially on a cold grey UK day, thank you.
