Regret

She looked at me with tears in her eyes "I can't believe you"
The words hit me like knives in my skin
She cried to me "You're so horrible"
My heart bled with pain
My lungs were filled with flowers when we met
Now the roses have died and fallen away
Nothing's left but cold and black
An emptiness in my chest
And it's all my fault
I don't know what to do or what to say
To make it all go away.

A snippet in time we've all felt, described here wonderfully. Bravo.

love lives and love dies. People get hurt but in the long run they also see it wasn't right. Memories take longer to forget. Who among us has no regrets? it's part of growing up. The poem shows a kind heart, and a strong one.

Bradley your use of simile, analogy, metaphor all work so brilliantly to produce a very vivid and moving poem that so well expresses the loss of love and trust and thus the aptly named title, "Regret." ***APPLAUSE*** I wish I could hit that button about 1000 times!!
