What are you afraid of?

What are you afraid of?
Seems a simple question, but with a complicated answer.
I am afraid of the dark, no, I am not afraid of the night
I am afraid of the dark inside my house when the lights go out.
I am afraid of the things I may see that are trapped inside with me.
I am afraid of that which lurks in the shadows and inspires my paranoia.
I am afraid of a world where my fear is a child of my imagination, and my demons only exist in my head.

-Dead.

I love this, thanks for sharing! I read this a few days ago and it was the only poem that caught my eye at the time so was the only one I read and I've just sat within the hour and wrote a new poem myself and published it here. I've then looked back on this and I think you must have influnced my brain as my new poem is called 'Afraid of getting old' and I've seen 'What are you afraid of?' In yours and my poem now looks like a total response! :D Thanks for getting my brain ticking I've been needing a push to get back into something, this must have subconsciously inspired me, a great write well done!
