heartbreaks are heart attacks

cracks in the wall

family, friends, lovers

slip-slide away

and then the tears fall

pain surges across the years

ripping ragged, ruthless, raw

opening up the tender veins

exposing the muscle

to terminal stall

no voice

no message

no sound in word nor deed

just empty lost fragments

of  a fading time

when one was once in need

alone can be lonely

there're times too long, it's true

others cannot be bothered

as when they're two

but, there's just one of you

so make happy on your face

smile and twinkle your eyes

keep your harmonious laughter

and never expose the edges

of  your disguise

heartache is a heartsong

memories are the score

the lyrics fly like ashes

upon the whispered sighs

from days of yore

all what was is over

no depth, no life, no touch

all the photos in the album

are without feeling

and that's what hurts

so very, very much.

Lovely. Loved the last three stanzas the most. A great comeback poem. :D
