This Ruddy Dawn

Curtains in the eaves
Stir in the dawn,
Ephemeral as our happiness.

The prayer flags flutter
In the nearby mountains,
Translucent as memories of flesh.

All night I watched
Your sleeping face
& forgot my name.

Your body now shines
In all the curves.
Your lips & eyes
& your thighs are drenched
With an ocean full of fireflies.

Once more we shall creep
Between the warm white sheets
& make love.

Once again,
At the very edge of the bed
Memories shall end
In a fringe of moaning chorus,

This ruddy dawn,
Like the blooming pomegranate
In the garden below.

Every stanza is better than the last or even backwards it's a beauty through and through. You are such a good romantic writer.

I like especially "an ocean full of fireflies" and "a fringe of moaning chorus." The poem lives. And breathes.

This is so beautifully written with such romantic language and soft images. I love the "feel" of it. It's like satin sheets against smooth skin. Lovely.
