Off piste

I was in the pub last night

Laughing

Singing

Shoulder to shoulder

With good friends

Reminiscing about a year gone

All the happy events we had done

Together

And the sad ones

The one of reflection that dragged us back

From our jolly ha ha-ing

Sombre coating the rose tint

And I thought suddenly of how much I missed your company

But I know you wouldnt "get it"

The pub

So very Britishly unique

But even the thought of that made me smile

And that's a good thing

That even in the midst of commotion,

Of gathered friends,

Of tender aches

The thought of you is enough

Yeah, as long as the thought is there then that is good enough. I have not had a good pub session for years. Thanks for bringing the feel back :)

I was with you right to the end. Sometimes, just the thought isn't enough.
