Against the world's awful turnings-- but
At once, through us, everything is made beautiful.
The indifferent practice their passive evil,
Stoking malice's fire's ceaseless burning but
With fury, we prevail; indefatigable.
Love's grandeur is lost on ordinary people--
Its mysteries made mundane through lack of learning but
At once, through us, everything is made beautiful.
Their eyes see no hope, their hearts inhospitable--
We stand in faith before waves-- our eyes do not shut.
With fury, we prevail; indefatigable.
The seas churn, their depths black secrets unknowable.
A sea change seldom brings good tidings but
At once, through us, everything is made beautiful.
Armed with love, our army's undefeatable.
Let the world rage and war, hellward slipping, but
With fury, we'll prevail; indefatigable.
At once, through us, everything is made beautiful.
