Lunar Legacy

And when we visit again
Those dead dustbowls and grey seas,
And bounce giddily by the old landing sites,
Waving gloved hands at the erstwhile Earth,
We might find evidence of a moonchild,
Or two perhaps, both related by birth;
The name of Gene Cernan's daughter
Scratched into the ashen surface,
And in the lunar ether, a whisper,
A murmur from the Man in the Moon,
Gene Cernan himself, born again.
