surrounded by nurses

surrounded by nurses
gasping like
a fish deprived of water
a worm suddenly stuck
in a tiny tunnel
during heavy rain

I am the foretold
the omnipresent
exhaled
into this world
like mist on a glass
of aging wine

dreams you are
a collective madness
bouncing up and down
in sleep all across town
steepled and done for
by the continuity
