the lie

the lie

old as water
literal as rain
the lie
-- alive and ill

redundant anti-truth
told again and again
masquerading as verity
until even it -- doesn't

know the difference

obliterates tenderness
leaves little room
for -- redress
for grievance

malicious calumnies
prevarications abound
equivocations -- daily
misrepresent ~ bury alive

vision of truth

darkness gathers
shivers in gloom
wholly ~ cant ~
mummery snuffling

hypocrisy wanton
insincerity abiding
-- sanctimony
argot of lies.

Nothing kills a relationship faster than lies. And they hurt so bad.
You express the feeling of the lie perfectly.+
