I Got Over Her (When She Got Under Him)

She was the prettiest thing I'd ever seen.
Yes, she could have been a beauty queen.
That girl had a hold on my heart.
She was so good lookin' and oh, so funny.
She had a good job, she made lots of money.
But one day it all fell apart.

She started stayin' at home, all alone
She was always textin' on her cell phone.
I had a feeling things were headin' south.
Friends told me she'd been runnin' 'round
With a bunch of other guys, all over town.
Last night I saw her kissin' one on the mouth.

I got over her when she got under him.
I never want to feel so used again.
I was a man, I took it on the chin.
I got over her when she got under him.

The signs were there, I was a little suspicious.
It seems her love for me was purely fictitious.
I wish my heart had listened to my head.
I was her puppet and she pulled the strings.
I didn't mind, she made my heart sing.
I should have run away so fast instead.

I got over her when she got under him.
I never want to feel so used again.
I was a man, I took it on the chin.
I got over her when she got under him.

Why do lessons learned cause so much pain?
I don't know if I can ever fall in love again.

I got over her when she got under him.
I never want to feel used again.
I was a man, I took it on the chin.
I got over her when she got under him.

Seems like this could make a good song. Hearts and heads, we never listen.
