Love Fell

Love fell as a peach from a tree
Landed hard upon the ground
Cushioned by the undergrowth
Did not make the slightest sound
Quarrelsome little damsel flies
Arrived so quickly on the scene
But dared not dare to touch of it
Only cried for what it had been
If you think me now emboldened
Or if you think me quite insane
Put the fruit back on your branch
And we can try it all over again

I think the term "falling in love," is all wrong. We should be "lifted in love." Unfortunately, falling is more common. Let's see if we can put that peach back in the tree. Sweet-sad poem.
