The Fawn

The small fawn
stands by the roadside
spindly legs shaking
wanting his mother
who is nowhere near

Where is she?
who knows?
who knows what happened
possibly road kill...

He just stands there
legs shaking

One who was an orphan
feels his loneliness
his confusion
what the fear of life
without a mother
is like
