The Night the Ship Sank

The last thing that he saw was her hand
Outstretched first, and then withdrawn,
The lifeboat having moved away.
Throughout the years since those aboard
Were rescued, she never has said what
She had seen.

This is so deep and so strong, Larry I am speechless. I just seem to feel tremendous sadness and I feel betrayal.

Kathy Lockhart The PoetBay support member heart!
The image is so powerful-- personal, painful, cold betrayal in black icy seas of the lost.
But that's not saying it right either. I just know the rejection and then the rejection again.
I read this over and over and over.
Most excellent!
