Little Has Changed

I'm to go about my business, lose myself
In mundane duties. I've been told I needn't
Fear. The monster's gone. They took
It out. It's been a month since it attacked...
But they put in another beast, and this one's
Wholly in control, so it can kill me several
Ways. "It's not a monster," they assure me.
"It's a proven, docile thing. You won't be
Harmed. You'll be just fine." I say those
Same words to myself as I go on about my
Business. Still, the terror stays.

Nicely explained. We are never the same after major life events.

Life, it seems, is something to fear.
Well done.

The fear is natural and it doesn't feel any better this way. I think it will take some time. "Little Has Changed," says it all.
