While Hiking

A family went hiking
In the woods
And in it was one young son
They had a joy-filled sunny day
Till they're meandering was done

Bare foot, they splashed
In a stream, and later
Climbed a steep grade-
And out of breath
Son thought he would
Stand in the blissful shade

He leaned his hand
On a spindly tree
And it toppled to the ground
And son in awe,
Picked himself up
He was quite dumbfound

He was a tall young man
He was scrawny
And, he was long
"Hey ma," he hollered
"Did you know-
That I was that strong!"
