Something New

Let's write
something new,
I tell myself.

But wait --
what if it's all
been written before?

No matter.
More coffee.
Sit at the keyboard.

Take a half hour,
clear the old noggin.

See what happens:
some friendly muse
might magic you

to a surprising eloquence,
to some graced collision
of chance and choice,

some holy marriage
of the ordinary
and the sublime.

I love the last stanza. I am glad you are here Thomas. It is a pleasure to read you.

But you DO manage always to find the words:)

You managed to do it with your love of words. Lovely to read.

Bravo, Tom, nothing is new, yet a writer ALL, is new. A write sees something others have not seen. Put a few writers to describe a seen. Each one will come up with the others did not see!
