Off To Sleep

The crescent moon eye drooped
Night stars blinked in weariness
Blankets covered the waking life
Making life much less mysterious
The trees rustled to one another
In whispers that only birds know
A neighbor's gate marked out time
And babies all rocked to and fro
Lonely mother cats called to a tom
To come snuggle tightly together
And in his yard this old hound dog
Drifted to sleep like a falling feather

Your descriptions are so vivid that they always take me there.

Bravo, perchance to catch dreams in the net through the night time sea.
