Sitting On My Stone

I am sitting on my stone
Yes, it is me here alone
No-one understands me anyhow
Call out to your neighbor
To do you any kind favor
Help a lonely bullock pull a plough
Old shows on television
Open every past incision
Memory is the biggest killer of all
I dance at any wedding
Well, if I’m not forgetting
I try to answer life’s wake-up call

Saying “One hand is for your face
The other hides behind your back
And when I didn’t get the message
I launched my own anxiety attack”
Replying “Money lies on the shelf
So when you need it, help yourself
Or just leave it in a neat little stack”

I am sitting on my stone
I will remain unknown
My own little stack of universal woes
People come and people go
I have a dark star you know
I think I follow it wherever that it goes

I keep getting the image of "The Thinker" in my mind. There's so much here. I keep reading it. That dark star has me captivated along with the quote. Very mysterious and inviting to my analytical mind. I do so appreciate your poetry!

I had missed you here, but now I know that you were sitting on your stone. I am glad you are back with your message and poem. Enjoyed.
