My Pet Acorn

My pet acorn died the other day
So I buried him out in the backyard
Then one day I saw a green seedling
His head bent, mourning at his grave
So I asked “how did you know him?”
He said “He encapsulated my early life
And cradled me in the beginnings of love”

The title is endearing, charming, it made me smile. The poem is truly touching and sound, a hint of Shel Silverstein, but all Jamsbo.
