Winter Snow

Some cheer fresh leaves instead of winter snow:
Iím, on the other hand, enamored by winter snow.

So beautiful and peaceful, in the cold morning,
These things I feel when witnessing winter snow

When I make my way to work at 7 oíclock,
What keeps me sane is the white of winter snow

To which I waken in surprise for barren was last night.
What a thing to find the world wrapped in winter snow.

The downcast sky is grey but worry I donít
The world is rather brightened up by winter snow

And it twinkles, suddenly the street is the sky
Oh, what a thing to witness when winter snows

And if I stare too long I might turn blind
I might risk sight to just gaze at winter snow

I punched a guy because he was rushing inside
Stay outside a while and witness the winter snow

Let me go he screamed and I just let him fly
Iím just too enamored by the beauty of winter snow

What helped was as he ran he fell into a puddle
Of ice cold water not quite frozen by winter snow

Just what happens to philistines who dare hide
From natureís beauty especially, winter snow

Isnít it Minnesotan to smile slightly at snow clad pines?
I Chelsea smile without guile at winter snow

And I laughed and laughed and made my way to work
Singing Christmas songs in November... winter snow.

You have captured the pure beauty of freshly fallen snow and the joy you feel at its beauty. I do remember feeling that way as well. This is beautiful and so full of joy! Love it!

I am enjoying this poem immensely, its humor and of course its form, one of my favorites!
