Inspired by Ken D. Williams in 2008. Ken, you probably don't remember me
telling you this that happened, & you said, I should write it up. So I did & here
it is, after all those years.

Afternoon Shakeup

Seems like a cyclone
Swept through here
My living room, sideswiped
My electric heat went ca-put-
Guess 'thermy' got all hyped

It wouldn't turn heat down or off
Heat just ran and ran on spree
Ole towel, wringing wet
With sweat a-pouring from me

"Caretaker, where are you?! ole
towel bellered its rough whoop
But 'wringing wet' only found
That caretaker flew the coop!

Ole towel saw two firetrucks
Men in hard hats, wet suits, came
And tore heatspouter all apart
Left it laying on floor-
For caretaker, what's his name

Furniture helter skelter
Daughter asked, "What
bulldozer ran loose in here?"
But ole towel gave no dang- Heat
thingy dead,, wringing out done,
It yipped a hearty cheer...

"Whah...that sure was awful!"
Ole towel groaned
"That heat was something, I'll tell!
Until those firetrucks came along
I thought we had gone to hell!"
