Nothing New News

Our local newspaper now, is full of ads and political
jargon. No more room for long poems. Lucky if two
or three stanzas fit in. So gotta keep poems short so
there's room for all that political yakety-yak stuff
that many of us don't care to read.

Hell. we all know what it's about. Same thing, the
filthy rich trying to figure out more ways to snatch
the low income folks hard earned dollars!

Our newspaper used to be a daily. Then it was CUT
to three days a week. And it's thin, so there's not much
worth reading anymore, with all those ads and politics
in there.

CUTS! That's what that newspaper is full of these days.
Who's gonna get it in the neck, this time? Something's
always getting cut anymore. Folks getting less and
less for what they pay for. Places like schools, libraries,
etc ,etc, suffering cuts of funds they depend on to run

But what runs through the head is not always cut short.
So thankfully there are poetry websites that will post
long poems and writings that possibly someone might

It's rough these days, except for the politicians.

I agree with every word you say here.
I like politics in as much as I like to know who I am voting for, but now you are right that it's all about the latest cuts for us while the Senators clap and laugh. It's all too sad, the evil ways of politicians today.
