Do not Doubt

We are worlds apart, and will be for so far as I can see
Into the future, months at least, more likely several
Years, but do not ever doubt this, J: my love remains.
It's not diminished. Should we get to meet again, I'll
Shout your name, and rush to wrap you in my arms.
I'll kiss your lips, and we will take up where we left off,
Chattering like little birds, your head upon my shoulder
As we stalk whatever streets we're on, maybe those of
San Francisco, maybe Ile de France again, investigating
This or that, so happy to be back together for however
Long we have, and then to feel our love begin to sink
Back into dormancy when we've run out of time,
And find once more we're worlds apart.
