Inspired by Munir Niazi's 'humesha dair kar deta hoon main'

Regret

In moments of longing
at a time of need
at instances of weakness
In hours of awakening
through lonesome paths
when she needed a hand
to hold on , to comfort
to let her know that I meant well
and that I have always loved her
To whisper,
before she faded away to eternal abyss
Her name as she looked at me

I have for most part of my life
Always been unfortunately,
Just a bit too late.

I can't believe that there is a person in this world without regrets, but your words capture the pain and longing of that moment. As always, an excellent write. It's good to see your poems on this page again.
