An Agnostic Approach

Gentle, gentle
My hands moved to soothe you,
Brittle knuckle busted, begotten burn nestled between shoulder blades, I kissed both like bruises spotted by an anxious mother

Timid, timid
Clicking, familiar, crept into the bed and settled, comfortable, cooing to come closer and caving, I curled around the sound, prayer pressed into your spine, a reminder

Sorry, sorry
Light let itself in, cascading against cans donning your dresser, clumped together, cramped, a warning, last call for fingers, frantic, memorizing places they lived and now only visit

Coward, coward
Come with me.
Come with me.
Come with me.
Comes nothing.

My tongue sits an anchor, petulant, my arms, defeated, slink away, almost embarrassed
You've prepared for it.

"Come cuddle me;" encouraging or worrying, my face smothered itself, a delight, inhaling against your neck and savoring, hesitant, belaboring, an invitation or an ending

Waiting, Waiting
My hands reach for the emptiness in the bed,
Hangers line the space in the closet,
Notebooks remain untouched on the desk,
Jameson stands alone by the door,
Patiently, patiently

Welcome and what a beautiful first posting, I enjoyed the unusual form of the short and elongated lines and the repetition really aided the flow.
