A fictitious character I assure you.

Good Captain O’Hennessy

Good Captain O’Hennessy
Never wanted to go to sea
For he liked model trains
And world war one planes
Had never grown a beard
And he never volunteered
But he got his commission
Without any real ambition
He stared into the wave
So menacingly concave
Knowing his end was here
But without noticeable fear
Took off his peaked cap
And saluted the gold strap
Then was sent down below
What a damned good show

I was thinking this rhymes like a limerick too, oh poor good Captain O'Hennessy! Very enjoyable to read.

This reads like a lyric from Gilbert & Sullivan’s Pinfore ! Love it!
