A thought that struck me as a Norwegian now living in BC, Canada.


Own

For the nature we covet

we use our wiles to plunder
we smile to take under
we scheme to own

For these lands we need

we lie to the goodnatured
we pillage the ones who distrust
we rape those who fight back

And call them
"uncivilized"

For these forests and rivers,
mountains and plains

will we not fight for their survival?
with that same fervour we fight to own them?
