Mirrors In Versailles

Into the hall of mirrors in Versailles
I mischievously peered with one eye
When a strange man appeared to me
Wearing clothes from a past century
Old wig, embroidered suit and ruffles
Offering absinthe and nougat truffles
But I quickly opened both eyes wide
Seeing apparition and aperitif nullified
It seems Versailles is not a place to be
For one eyed scaredy-cats and for me
