One Reason to Go Back

It hasn't been easy to stay with the baby.
She walks much more quickly than I can now.
It's also not easy to cling to this world. It turns
Ever faster. I'm feeling flung off, steadily drifting
Away from its residents: monsters and dupes,
Who have turned on each other, gathering arms,
Stepping on toes. I haven't a reason to wish
To return, except for the baby. I want to go
Get her to save her from danger by leading her
Somewhere that's safe.

We all wish we could save the little ones from the bleak future of our world, but how can we do it? I enjoyed reading the poem. Well done.

Well-written. :)
