Sorry this is a repeat. But I changed the last line.

Waiting Words

The words in the dictionary
Must get so altogether bored
Just sitting there and waiting
For attention we may afford
But these days we go online
To find spelling or a meaning
But they sit there in that book
Of openness is their dreaming

A sad story well told. I do miss the old days of going to look up a word, and then being distracted for hours by those around it.

Bibek
I think I have read one of your poems about the 'dictionary'. Is this a revised version or altogether another poem?

This makes me want to dust mine out of the shelf and just look through it for the love of words like I used to do once upon a time. Thank you for reminding me of a friend I had almost forgotten.*

Great personification! Made me, as usual, smile broadly! Peace and light.
