A test to see if anyone is out there :)

Dreamily Drunk

I dreamed I was on a very exact island
It was somewhere in the specific
I was lying on the beach
This is harder than it sounds
For someone who is mostly truthful
A man in the distance
Was slowly walking my way
Even though he had never seen me walk
He carried a basket full of fruit
I asked if he had any desecrated coconut
But he said he was very kind to his produce
The waves were lapping the beach
Because the beach was obviously tired
I looked up to the noonday sun
Standing next to the morning sun
Which was next to the afternoon sun
And I thought to myself
(I seldom think to other people)
“That is rather strange, three suns all in a line.
I wonder what the payout is?”
I pushed the button and waited for the attendant
Who told me that this island was out of order
So I just went to the bar and got dreamily drunk

Excellent playing with words and ideas! I really enjoy the ones which take us into another dimension, where everything is just a bit off kilter. I read it sevearal times to really savour the morphing ideas. Great read!

I love reading your poems waiting to see what will happen next, like being with Alice in the rabbit hole. Anything can happen.
Enjoyed reading this one.

I cherish your wise whimsicality!

Sorry, (runaway keyboard) should read AND the snow was raining fast.

See you at the bar! This brought to mind a rhyme from childhood, "it was Springtime in the Rockies no the snow was raining fast, a barefoot man with shoes on went slowly running past.....etc
