Half-Assed Arhat

It's going to rain. That's alright with me.
(I am trying to be equanimous.) The pain
In my hip is so bad that it travels my femur
Down to my knee. What's to be done?
Isn't life largely pain? The truck won't
Start. I'm not eager drive it. My homework's
Not done. I don't want a degree.
The rain now has come, and it's falling
In buckets, but I am inside. Nevertheless,
Having noticed I'm hungry, I am losing my
Equanimity.

"Isn't life largely pain?" Of course, it is! Trying to be "equanimous" in such a situation is a hard job.
