Mad Manís Villanelle

I close my eyes and kill you a thousand times

The villain, the destroyer of my life.

I open my eyes; your life rings happy chimes.

The stars dance, intoxicated in wines,

A galaxy of thoughts reel, mind in strife.

I close my eyes and kill you a thousand times.

How shall I explain? With what symbols and signs?

My failure to slay you that now runs rife?

I open my eyes; your life rings happy chimes.

You bewitch my heart into countless crimes,

I hack and slash your throat with a kitchen knife.

I close my eyes and kill you a thousand times.

As if in a fair, your reddish pantomimes,

Make you glow in your bloody afterlife.

I open my eyes; your life rings happy chimes.

Instead of your throat, I should’ve cut some limes

And drank fizzy lemonade with your wife.

I close my eyes and kill you a thousand times.

I open my eyes; your life rings happy chimes.

Ashe The PoetBay support member heart!
This is so raw and courageous and daring writing. A unique villanelle is written with the skill of a master. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
